There are too many distinct colors available in kanchipuram sarees which brides can choose according to their skin color, tone and their choice. One can easily find pastel shades and metallic colors. Traditionally red and gold color was obsession in kanchipuram silk sarees. Even today these colors are used but use of this combination has reduced slightly but other embellishments and trimmings are being used to make the saree look bridal and modern at the same time.

These trimmings and embellishments include laces and delicate satin ribbon, gold and silver thread which provide a royal look to kanchipuram sarees. For those brides, who wants to have beautiful attire but could not make choice between so many different colors and designs, designs by Anita Dongre can be proved best who generally  provides a combination of traditional and non-traditional color palettes which usually have features of all styles from traditional zardozi styles to more modern kanchipuram silk sarees, i.e. less gold embellishments.
